ThermiTIGHT procedure details
THERMItight is also known as the “injectable radiofrequency treatment” because the procedure involves the use of a small probe which is inserted with a needle directly into the inner layer of your skin.
The first step is the injection of a local anesthetic. Once this is complete, Dr. Halaas will then insert the tiny SmartTip™ thermistor probe into the treatment areas. As she gently and precisely moves the probe underneath the skin’s surface, the device delivers radiofrequency heat and energy to disrupt fat pockets and melt them. The SmartTip is synced with Thermal Image Guidance, an innovative technology that allows Dr. Halaas to monitor your epidermal skin temperature.
The procedure takes an average of about an hour, depending on the sites to be treated. Afterwards, Dr. Halaas will apply a gentle wrap to the treatment area so that the tiny wound may heal. Normal activity may be resumed the next day, and patients are advised to stay away from direct sunlight for the first few days.
