What is MyEllevate?

MyEllevate uses sutures that are strategically placed under the skin to lift the tissues of the neck. MyEllevate is a suture suspension system that firms and tightens the jawline and profile with the Suturod®, a light-guided ICLED® technology that utilizes an illuminated rod to accurately place the sutures in specific jawline and facial areas.

Dr. Halaas uses the Suturod to pinpoint the exact locations where the muscles and glands of the neck are best supported with an internal suture. These unique sutures are strategically placed to lace together the underlying muscles and glands to create a lifted, tighter contour.

What happens during the MyEllevate procedure?

The MyEllevate procedure takes about one hour to complete. It will begin with a local anesthetic applied to ensure you’re comfortable. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, Dr. Halaas will make a very small incision behind your ear. This is used as the access point to insert the ICLED suture rod and permanent sutures. These are used to tighten and reposition the underlying muscle and tissue and to place a support sling within the underlying skin and muscles. This sling lifts your neck and jaw to support a firmer, more sculpted contour. The MyEllevate sutures will remain within the jawline and neck to provide the missing structure that was lost or weakened due to age.

If you have more severe skin sagging, another nick may be made under the chin. Dr. Halaas will use this to further tighten and firm loose skin and muscle.

Results and recovery after MyEllevate

MyEllevate results appear almost immediately. Results appear very natural and can last for many years.

After your procedure, you will wear a chin strap for a few days or a week to support your new jawline and neck contours. You may feel a tight sensation in these areas during your recovery period, which is fairly rapid.

Expect some tenderness and minor swelling and bruising during the first week. You should be able to return to sedentary work and your usual routine within 3-4 days.
