I’m interested in a permanent wrinkle treatment for the vertical lines around my mouth that has few side effects because I have sensitive, fair skin. What would you recommend?

You have many options to choose from to improve the wrinkles of your upper lip. Botox can help relax the muscle responsible for pursing your lips, though you may notice that you are not able to move the same way when drinking from a straw or trying to whistle. You can also try filling in the lip lines with a hyaluronic acid like Restylane or Juvederm. Thicker fillers are not an appropriate option in the lip area or for superficial lines. A third option would be skin resurfacing with several lasers that offer improvement with little or no downtime. The fractional CO2, erbium, or the Affirm by Cynosure work well and because you are fair skinned you make a great candidate for laser procedures. As always, wear sunscreen and avoid drinking from straws to keep from making those lines worse.
