Yes, fat transfers work really well to rejuvenate and enhance the chin. Recovery time only lasts about two weeks and results last three to five years.

I have very thin lips and I’m interested in a fat transfer. How long will a fat transfer last and will I have to keep repeating the procedure with time?

Answer:

A fat transfer can last between three to five years. As you age and your body changes, your lips may change as well. There is a chance your lips can remain permanently plumped after the fat transfer, but it is more common to need a second injection with time.

How long does it take to get a fat transfer?

It usually takes about one hour to complete a fat transfer procedure, depending on the area being treated.

Patients often experience mild swelling and bruising up to five days after being treated. There may also be an area of the fat transfer that is not as smooth as the surrounding area. This can be corrected by softly massaging the area in small circles to blend the fat into the tissue.

Fat is usually taken from the abdomen, hips, thighs, or buttock.

There is a slight chance that there will be some fat absorption, but the amount is difficult to predict because every patient is different. Most patients tend to get a series of fat transfers until they achieve the look they desire.

I have bags under my eyes. Can a fat transfer help me to get rid of these?

Answer:

As we age, the skin under our eyes becomes thinner. A fat transfer can reshape and add the missing volume back to the eye to recreate a youthful appearance.

When can I begin to exercise again after a fat injection treatment?

Answer:

You can begin to mildly exercise after about a week, but you should refrain from strenuous activity for about two weeks post surgery.

What are the facial areas to treat with a fat transfer?

Answer:

Fat transfers work really well in the lower eyelids, cheeks, jawline, and in the folds of the nose.
