Question:
Do you routinely prescribe antibiotics when undergoing a brow lift? Are there antibiotics taken before and/or after surgery and is there a specific antibiotic that you use?

Answer:
Yes we prescribe antibiotics for all brow lift procedures. Antibiotics are take the night before and for 7 days post surgery. We prescribe 500mg of Duricef . For those who are allergic to penicillin we prescribe Z-pack to be taken as directed.

What type of pain medication will I be prescribed after my facelift?

Answer:
Generally we prescribe Vicodin or T3 better known as Tylenol3. For those allergic to Codeine we prescribe Durvocet.

I’m interested in getting Botox or Dysport injections. I know that I will have to have the injections repeated fairly regularly. Given this, do you get some sort of deal on the price, like a frequent flyer sort of thing?

Answer:
We actually have developed a Loyalty Card for such patients who come on a regular basis to earn up to $400.00 in value. We also over offer seasonal specials throughout the year that give great discounts on all injectables and facial products.

I’m interested in getting a nose job but I’m not sure how to communicate what exactly I want. Do you have any tips for communicating to the surgeon what you want your nose to look like?

Answer:
It’s always best to have something visual to show the surgeon what you would like him/her to achieve. Cut out pictures of people that have the nose that you would like. The surgeon will be able to tell you if the expectations are achievable or not and will let you know what’s possible with your particular nose. Also ask if the surgeons office does digital imaging to photos taken so you have get a visual example of possibilities.

I’m getting an eyelid lift on both my upper and lower eyelids. Are dissolvable sutures used or regular/surface sutures? When do dissolvable sutures dissolve?

Answer:
For Upper eyelids Prolene or (Regular sutures are used) and for Lower eyelids dissolvable sutures are used and varies from person to person in the time of dissolution. (*Anywhere from 14-21 days) Upper eyelid sutures are removed 5 days after the procedure.

In terms of hair transplants, I’d like to know how long it takes before the incision marks fade.

Answer:
During a hair transplant that incorporates hair grafting, a significant amount of scalp is removed. This area is then sutured together to form a thin line across the scalp. The length of time for this scar to fade is different for different patients. For some its 4-5 months yet for others it can be 10-12 months. Most doctors agree, though, that by 1 year the scar should have faded signiseficantly. Choosing an appropriate and skilled surgeon will help to ensure that the scar heals to virtual undetectability quickly and safely.

Answer:
Yes, different financing options such as convenient monthly payment plans are available. Many doctor's offices work with elective cosmetic financing companies such as Care Credit and Chase Health Advance. Applications are very simple and can be done online by visiting their sites.

How visible will the scars from liposuction be and will there be temporary or permanent scarring?

Answer:
Scarring from liposuction is unlikely, although in the event that it does occur it is usually quite minimal. Scars will usually fade and disappear with time, although this depends on the scarring tendency of the patient. One of the great things about this procedure is that the incisions that are made are very small which means that even if the scars are there to stay they will be quite small and unnoticeable.

Do different types of chin augmentation implants yield different recovery times?

Answer:
In general, the recovery period for a Genioplasty (chin augmentation) be it a silicone implant or bone graft is about a week. The type of implant is not so important to healing time. Swelling should be mostly gone within about 3-5 days of surgery and many Genioplasty patients are able to return to work, if the job is not physically strenuous, within the first week of recovery. Other low-stress activities can be resumed about 1-2 weeks after surgery, though exercise should be postponed for about 4 weeks.

Are there any types of facial creams, washes and/or lotions that should be avoided just prior to facelift surgery?

Answer:
Up until the day of your procedure any cosmetic product can be used. On the day of surgery, however, be sure to avoid heavy make up as this may interfere with proper cleansing of the skin.
