I have bags under my eyes. Can a fat transfer help me to get rid of these?
Answer:
As we age, the skin under our eyes becomes thinner. A fat transfer can reshape and add the missing volume back to the eye to recreate a youthful appearance.
Is there a chance that my fat transfer will be reabsorbed into my body?
Answer:
There is a slight chance that there will be some fat absorption, but the amount is difficult to predict because every patient is different. Most patients tend to get a series of fat transfers until they achieve the look they desire.
Why is it that the more I age, the more my face sinks in? Is there any way to reverse this?
Answer:
As we age, our face naturally loses facial tissue, giving our skin its sunken appearance. A fat transfer to the face is a great way to address this issue. Fat is obtained through grafting or liposuction and then injected into areas of the face that need enhancement.
What are some post-op side effects of a fat transfer that I should be aware off?
Answer:
Patients often experience mild swelling and bruising up to five days after being treated. There may also be an area of the fat transfer that is not as smooth as the surrounding area. This can be corrected by softly massaging the area in small circles to blend the fat into the tissue.
